Opportunities Industrialization Center is established.

(Summer) Founded by Rev. Virgil Wood and others, the job training program is located in the Robert Gould Shaw House at 11 Windsor Street. Its purpose is to help unemployed residents of North Dorchester, Roxbury, and the South End. Wood is the first director. OIC moves to Hibernian Hall at 184 Dudley Street in March 1968.
